The regional database (Database) is developed to support the “Regional Policy Roadmap on Harmonisation of Energy Performance Standards for Air Conditioner and Lighting”, which responds to the directives made by the 37th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) on the continued enhancement of an ASEAN Energy Database System. In addition it supports the strategic objectives of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) towards achieving energy security and sustainability for the region.

The Database is designed to serve as a centralized repository with information on products registered in the ASEAN countries. The availability of this data aims to support Monitoring, Verification, and Enforcement (MV&E) activities in the region, as it includes MV&E actions performed by the countries on registered products and product testing reports which are intended to be used for cross-examination, etc. The data of the database is therefore confidential and thus only restricted users have access to the database.
